The Graduate School of Engineering and the Graduate School of Environmental Studies at Nagoya University will accept applications from foreign students who wish to pursue a doctoral or master’s degree in the field of Civil and Environmental Engineering, with the financial aid of the Japanese Government (Monbu-Kagaku-sho; Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) Scholarship Program. This scholarship program provides a course specially designed for foreign students, in which course works and research supervision are carried out in English.
The selection will be made basically by the submitted documents and internet interviews, and any applicants do not have to visit Japan for an entrance examination. 5 DC students and 3 MC students will be accepted for this program and those who will pass the selection process will be allowed to enter in October 2018 with a scholarship granted by the Japanese Government.

The Forefront Studies Program offers the financial aid of the Japanese Government (Monbu-Kagaku-sho; Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) Scholarship Program.
The scholarship students will be selected from the successful applicants.
If you are selected a scholarship student, the following are provided:
- Exemption from enrollment and tuition fees
- A monthly stipend of 144,000 yen for Master’s student and 145,000 yen for Doctoral student
(subject to change depending on the annual budget of each year)
- Air ticket from/to the student's country
Requirements for Application
December 1st 2017 and September 30th 2018, he/she is not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
If the applicant is unable to make a decision, he/she should inquire in advance about the qualification.
Selection Method
1. Selection of successful applicants consists of a first (document) screening and second (interview: as a rule, applicants who do not reside in Japan will be interviewed via the Internet, Skype, etc.) screening.
2.Results of the first (document) screening will be announced via e-mail.
3.Applicants who successfully pass the first (document) screening will also be informed of the date of the second (interview) screening in the e-mail.
4.The second (interview) screening includes an oral examination on fundamental knowledge of your specialized field.
