Civil and environmental engineering related domestic and overseas study tours provide opportunities to visit actual sites and nourish students’ ability to identify and solve problems from broad perspectives.
2023: Chubu Infrastructure DX Center and Shin-Maruyama Dam
On October 27, we visited Chubu Infrastructure DX center and Shin-Maruyama Dam to experience the latest Infrastructure DX. Infrastructure DX endeavors to transform social infrastructure and public services by using various data and digital technology. This domestic on-site study tour was held in 3 years and participated 31 students and faculties.
2022: Uzbekistan
On November 18-24, 6 Japanese students visited Uzbekistan. They had opportunity to interact with students in Tashkent State Technical University on environmental and civil engineering issues.
They also visited local infrastructure development site and learned about sustainable development in developing countries.
2022: China, Bangladesh, the Netherlands and Japan (Online)
On August 31, September 1, 2, and 9, online study tour was held by zoom. Four representative regions, China, Bangladesh, the Netherlands and Japan was chosen and participants learned and discussed about flood control and water environment issues around the region through seminars and real-time site visits via webcast.
2021: Germany (Online)
On August 23-25, online study tour was held by zoom. The tour connected 3 cities in Germany online, Karlsruhe, Heidelberg and Freiburg. Through live-cast, students learned about city planning, environmental policy and transportation policy in each cities.
