NUGELP and Forefront Program Closing Ceremony AY2019 Spring

 

 

Seven Master Course students successfully completed the NUGELP / Forefront in the spring of 2020.
However, in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, Nagoya University graduation ceremony and degree conferral ceremonies scheduled for March 25, 2020 were unfortunately cancelled.
Along with this, the international programs completion ceremony was also decided to cancel.
International Program Certificates were provided by each of the graduates’ supervisors.
 
CEEIPO sincerely congratulates the graduates on their graduation and wishes them success on the new stage as graduates of our international programs.
Here are some pictures of graduates and the speeches that two student representatives were unable to give at the completion ceremony.

 
It is truly an honor to be able to speak in front of this very important moment. First of all, I would like to thank all my professors andstaff for supporting and providing us with a great environment.
 
Through this international program, I met a lot of excellent people from all over the world. They became my good friends and that has made my two years more fulfilling. What I liked most about this program is the opportunity to meet people who were always nice and friendly. Despite my English language level, they spoke to me without barriers. I was able to learn different cultures through good connection and fun conversations. With an environment surrounded by these wonderful people, I was able to proactively start a conversation with people from different countries, inside and outside of this program.
 
I enrolled in the Graduate school of Engineering in Nagoya university after graduating from a different school on a different major because I got interested with the program as I wanted to have more international experience before I started working. It was a big decision for me to change everything and dive into a totally different environment. I was alone when I joined the program two years ago, but now I am graduating with a lot of friends and good relationship with my professors and staff.
 
I am grateful to be a member of NUGELP and Forefront. To my Professors and staff, thank you for accepting me to this program and supporting me all the time. To my friends, thank you for the wonderful moments we spent together and I hope we can meet again in the future.
 
I am happy and honored to graduate from this excellent program with all my friends.

Today, I would like to express my gratitude for giving me this opportunity to show my appreciation to everyone who supported my two-year journey with Nugelp and Forefront.
 
Through this program, I was able to make great friends who gave me different perspectives in life.
Come to think of it, when I first enrolled in a graduate school, I was a little bit upset.
I tried to box myself into a small world and filled it with a lot of “to do things" controlling my life.
All of my friends from all over the world have different background, way of thinking and measures of happiness.
They gave me a chance to realize the difference between “trying hard” and “forcing myself”.
Trying hard can be a virtue but most people put too much emphasis on their 'means and goals' rather than their 'hardwork and effort'. I was once a person who thinks that way.
Through our journey in this program, we had good laughs, exchange of opinions, comfort, and sometimes we even cried together.
Every minute being with everyone in this program was fresh, exciting and fruitful.
I came to be reminded of how big the world we live in and how precious it is to just be happy and contented.
I will forever treasure the time I spent with you here.
 
To my professors and staff,
I would like to thank you for everything that you have done for us. When I could not catch up with my other classmates, it was really helpful that you showed me your trust and support.
Not only about environmental studies, but also my career, research…and many other things about life. Thank you for teaching us a lot of valuable lessons. 
 
To my friends,
Always remember the great journey we spent together in the graduate school. Most especially the tough challenges that we were able to overcome in 2 years.
 
This is the beginning of our bright future. Best wishes for our future careers.
